What dental implants cost
The honest answer is that it depends on what you need, which is why we give you a written estimate after your consultation. Here is what goes into the price.
What changes the cost
| Factor | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Number of implants | One tooth needs one implant. A full arch may need two to six. |
| Extraction | If a failing tooth needs to come out first. |
| Bone grafting | Needed when the jawbone has shrunk. Ranges from a simple socket graft to a sinus lift. |
| What goes on top | A single crown, a bridge or a denture. Your dentist usually provides this part. |
| Sedation | Optional for most procedures. |
Optional: a typical price range for a single implant, if you're comfortable publishing one. Pages with real numbers tend to rank and convert better for "implant cost" searches.
Two bills, usually
We place the implant and any grafting. Your general dentist usually makes the crown, bridge or denture that attaches to it. We'll help you understand both parts of the cost.

Questions we hear often
Does insurance cover dental implants?
Some plans cover part of the cost, others don't cover implants at all. Even when the implant itself isn't covered, the extraction, grafting or crown sometimes is. We check before your treatment.
Why are implants more expensive than a bridge or denture?
An implant involves surgery and lasts much longer. Over 15 to 20 years, implants often cost about the same as replacing a bridge or relining dentures several times.
Can I make monthly payments?
Yes. CareCredit and Cherry both offer monthly plans for qualifying patients.
